Event description

We are heading to Zeeland (Brouwersdam) for a full day of sailing aboard two Fox 22 keelboats. Each boat will carry a maximum of five people, giving everyone enough space to participate rather than simply sit onboard.

We will travel to the marina by carpool and meet at approximately 09:00. The day begins with a short safety briefing and practical training covering the boat, basic manoeuvres, crew positions and communication onboard. Once both crews are ready, we will leave the marina and spend the day sailing together.

The Fox 22 is a compact but proper sailing yacht with a fixed keel, mainsail, jib, small cabin and outboard engine. During the day, crew members can rotate between steering, sail trimming, navigation and general deck work. The two boats will normally stay in contact and follow a shared route, although this is a relaxed sailing day rather than a formal race.

Around lunchtime, we plan to stop briefly at another marina for food, toilets and a short break. The exact route and lunch stop will depend on the wind, weather and progress of both boats.

We will continue sailing during the afternoon and return to the home marina with enough time to lower the sails, clean and inspect the boats. Both boats must be back in port before 18:00.

09:00 — Arrival, crew allocation and briefing

09:30 — Boat handover and practical training

10:00 — Departure and morning sailing

Around 13:00 — Short marina stop for lunch and toilets

Afternoon — Continued sailing

Before 18:00 — Return, boat handover and departure home

Times may change slightly depending on conditions and the rental company’s handover procedure.

Cost and registration

We are renting two Fox 22 boats for a maximum of five people per boat.

The cost per boat is:

• €210 rental fee
• €500 refundable security deposit

Each participant transfers €142 in total:

• €42participation fee
• €100 refundable deposit contribution

The €100 deposit contribution will be returned after the rental company releases the security deposit, provided the boats are returned without damage, missing equipment or other deductions.

There are only 10 places available. Registration order matters, and a place is secured only after registration and payment. Payment details will be sent after registration. Please transfer the amount promptly to avoid losing your place.

What to bring

The plan is for a relaxed sailing day, but conditions on the water can feel much colder and windier than on land.
